OUR PROCESSES

At Webplace we pride ourselves on our ability to deliver projects of exceptional quality on time and within budget. This is the result of careful planning and ongoing communication between Webplace and the client.

The Website Development Process can be defined in 3 major steps.

1.REQUIREMENTS

Initial Consultation / Brief

The Brief stage involves detailed analysis of your business, project requirements and the desired outcome.

Proposal

The information recorded throughout the brief stage is outlined in a formal quote/proposal and submitted to the client.

Technical Specification

Upon approval of proposal, a technical specification is developed, which will outline the work to be undertaken in more depth. This is to be approved by both parties for the project to continue.

2.DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

Prototype

Depending on the size and complexity of the project a prototype may be developed to help identify the desired workflow of the site as well as the workflow of particular functions or components. These prototypes will be created in basic HTML. We believe that this is an effective method to gather feedback from the user throughout the early stages of the project. Using a prototype can ensure the correct layout and functional aspects of the project are satisfied at an early stage. This ensures no unforeseen design flaws which could prove costly and time consuming in the latter stages of the project.

Design Mockups

Design mockups are developed and presented in image format to the client for review. These mockups are presented in two stages to allow for alterations and amendments.

Delivery of Content

One of the biggest issues that can cause a project to run over time is the delivery of content. It is recommended that the client should start developing content as soon as the project has commenced. If a copywriter is used, it is suggested that this is done early in the project as they can generally have turn-around times of 2-3 weeks.

Develop Site

This is where the mockup design is converted into a working, functioning site.

3.TESTING & LAUNCH

Cross Browser Testing

Site will be tested in all the latest major browsers to ensure compatibility.

Site Testing

Tests will be carried out against set criteria before site can be launched.

Launch

Site is launched and is submitted to all major search engines.

Post-launch Analysis

Site is assessed on performance and statistics.
